It was time for us to split. My brother and his family had to return the van and get back to Warsaw, whereas Vathsan Clan kept on exploring.
So we just asked him to give us a lift another 100km further in Czech Republic. He dropped us on a camp ground in Lednice, a town close to Breclav. Campground Apollo, was our meeting point with Lukas, a Czech guy who we met last year in Samoa. Since he met us on our cycling around the Savai'i Island trip, Lukas arranged some more biking activities for us for this year.
And thank God he was there, as the bike rental agency had only few bikes with kids carriers, and these bikes were slightly too big for me, so we needed him to travel with one of our kids while I could do less important staff, such as carry snacks and water.
Breclav- Lednice- Valtice is a quite popular cycling track, especially for Czech bike enthusiasts.
It's located in region called South Moravia. These bike paths are connected witch much bigger cycling- euro tracks, such as 1300 km long Baltic to Adriatic EV9 bike route.
The Lednice- Caltice complex is quite special as it will bring you across UNESCO World Cultural Heritage , such as Neo-Gothic palace in Lednice, aqueduct, Minaret and much more.
We took it easy this year, we made our base on the same campground and decided to go only
on day trips. Kids are getting bigger and heavier each year, so we wanted to spend our energy
on carrying them, but not our staff. After few days Lukas had to get back to work but we decided to stay a bit longer . We ended up renting a bike trailer, so Vathsan could pull both kids together, as there was always the same issue, with me being to small for the bike with carrier behind. Gosh, we laerned that day few things about the bike trailer...
Mostly how it is super heavy to pull it, and it can really slow down the dynamics of us biking around, and - as we were expecting - how sharing so little space can be leading cause of
Bruno and Yana annoying each other...which can have a further impact with them catching power naps on the way.
It happened to be a very hot summer!
Non stop sunny, with temperatures as high as 34'C.
We were only catching breaks while going through shady forest, or in nice a chilly wine cellars.
Because yes, South Moravia is full of vineyards! And we were super lucky as while we were
there it was season for Burcak- the traditional young Moravian wine. It is very sweet and taste more like juice than wine but can contain anywhere up to 7% alcohol in it.
Moravians believe that you can not expect to be healthy unless you drink about 7 liters of
Burcak each year. So much like locals, we were trying hard to improve our health while
our visit in South Moravia : )
